Why are you interested in joining this server?:
I was actually a member of this server a couple of years ago. I liked this server because of its friendly atmosphere and the wide breadth of amazing creations of other users. Now that I'm getting back into Minecraft I want to have a friendly place to build, share my knowledge, and learn more redstone skills. This was the server that came to mind for doing that. It's no fun building on my own!
Current Redstone knowledge:
I'm fairly familiar with basic redstone logic gates, mechanisms, etc, although I am by no means an expert. I guess I am somewhat specialized in piston-based designs because I like their elegance and compactness. I have a good understanding of general computer science (non-redstone) which I hope I can put to use in my redstone creations.
Past Redstone Experience:
I built a bank where different 8-bit "passwords" would retrieve different chests. The combination was stored with pistons. When it was entered, it went up a stack of redstone torches through a number of combination lock mechanisms. Each combination was only 8-wide and 2-high (stackable) so it was very compact. The matching combination would bring a chest minecart down to the user; leaving the room would send it back up to storage.
The other thing I built was actually on this server. It was a sort of shooting game where a number of small targets would open up on a wall and the player would try to shoot as many as possible with a bow before the time ran out. A counter displayed the score. That was my first foray into binary arithmetic in redstone.
About how often do you play Minecraft?:

What kind of creations would you like to build on this server?:
I'm hoping to build some sort of calculator or computer. The rank challenges look interesting! I may also build more simple/fun contraptions like the examples I gave.
