Why are you interested in joining this server?:
I want to join this server to improve my redstone skills. It looks like a place with a good community that I can learn from. I learn best by doing, and seeing examples. I find that having in game examples would be best for me rather than video tutorials. Also single player gets boring for me. Their are so many builds which I can study how they work in order to learn more of the redstone mechanics along with computer logic. My favorite thing with computers is memory storage. I think amazing memory storage can be built in minecraft. I want to design memory storage here and show it to others.
Current Redstone knowledge:
My skills are rusty, haven't built redstone in months. My skills weren't good to begin with anyways. I don't know much about using pistions, they are so quarky to me. I only have basic knowledge in redstone, redstone torches, repeaters, and observers. Observers are my favorite, they help get outputs from other parts of builds to reduce need for logic parts and timing. I find it interesting how redstone interacts with glass, glowstone, and slabs. I still can't fully wrap my head around glowstone.
Past Redstone Experience:
I built a basic half adder. Then made a full binary adder from that. My design only used redstone, redstone torches, blocks, and slabs. It used simple AND gates, OR gates, and inverters. I made it as compact as I could with my limited knowledge of redstone. It required tons of trial and error to get working. I also built a very compact piston feed tape block swaper. The tape was 2 wide had a row of glass, and blocks directly next to each other. First if pulled one block up, then 2 pistons push the blocks across eachother. Finally I puts them back down. For the second step an observer grabs an update from the first pistons that pull in. This activates the block swap. The button turns off and the first pistons re-extend. To prevent second fire of the swap pistons that would break my design (caused by observer attached to the first pistions re-extending) i used a repeater lock to check if the first pistons were extended.
About how often do you play Minecraft?:
11-15 hours per week
Application status:
Approved
What kind of creations would you like to build on this server?:
Piston feed tapes and solid state memory are one of the main things I will make. I may try to figure out some logic/computer based builds once I have more redstone experience. Everything else is me just randomly experimenting with ideas that might fail. I expect my things to fail because I'm not good at redstone yet. I want to improve my skills so I can make more complex contraptions.
