Why are you interested in joining this server?:
to learn new redstone mechanics and share what I have learned on my own if anyone finds it useful.
I visited your server after seeing the listing on planet minecraft. Plus you have some interesting looking standalone games made without command blocks. I was curious.
Current Redstone knowledge:
I started serious redstoning with a goal to making a small (fast) 'honest' general purpose computer. I mostly use torches and repeaters for logic, and comparators as output-enables only. I've watched a few minecraft computers on youtube videos, and was struck how so much was similar to conventional PCB layout. With minecraft we can also build upwards, not just flat busses everywhere. So I started my own digital system designs based on vertical busses -- that way I can always widen the bus 6/8/12/16 vertically without having to redo my layouts. For displays I never did anything beyond conventional 7-segment decoders, but I have seen some people able to make "screens" with pixel precision. No idea how they do it, when I try my torches light up adjacent redstone lamps.
Past Redstone Experience:
As the previous answer says, my interest was with making the smallest fastest honest cpu/mcu, meaning fetching and decoding opcodes, an alu, ram, conditional branch, procedure call (jmp-and-link used for call and return really, stack can be handled by software). Because my busses are vertical, I had to come up with new designs for muxes, gates, adders, etc. I invented/discovered the 3-torch xor gate on my own, I haven't found any youtube videos on the subject. Anyway, my first few systems had bus lines every 4 blocks high due to my memory and alu circuits needing that much height. My latest computer has everything flat, so bus lines are now every 2 blocks. (1.12 using WorldEdit) Cycle time is still 8 seconds, I didn't know instawire could be made without mods, but I saw in your visitor area, someone made the SciCraft solution which seems to work (does it?) in vanilla, especially 1.15.
About how often do you play Minecraft?:
6-10 hours per week
Anything else you'd like to mention? (Optional):
For the most part, all my minecraft life 5+ years has been alone on my own computer. I tried out a few servers from planet minecraft but mostly they were kids hanging out talking about school and gfs so I lost interest. When I visited your server and saw the builds, I thought 'hey these are people who think like me!" so I thought I'd give you a try. I built the "black box" random pulse generator in the visitor's area.
PS I'm from Canada and speak English & French.

What kind of creations would you like to build on this server?:
Faster RAM circuits, using instawire techniques. I also want to see how displays can be made. I've never been a fan of noisy pistons but I see many people's constructions using them, so I'll try to learn. Also some of the weird unique minecraft-block-specific components, like comparators getting signals from eye-of-ender portal boxes(?), no idea what they are getting but my curiosity has been piqued.
