Why are you interested in joining this server?:
I'm interested in joining because I would love to be among other redstoners on a redstone focused server. On the server that I currently play on, most of the players aren't interested in complex redstone at all so I have nobody to talk about that kind of stuff with. I'm also just extremely inspired by the inventions that I've seen on the server already. Seeing the unique concepts that I've seen in some of the showcase builds is giving me tons of ideas already!
Current Redstone knowledge:
I'd say my current redstone knowledge semi advanced and I'm starting to invent my own solutions to redstone problems instead of finding solutions on youtube. I mostly just use redstone to make mini-games, fun contraptions, or QOL base improvements. I don't consider myself a specialist in any specific discipline of redstone. I'm capable of coming up with custom piston extenders, doors, randomizers, and other various components and contraptions. I do also have a very small Youtube channel where I post tutorials to some of my inventions but I'm not very serious about it. I'll link that below.
Past Redstone Experience:
The two redstone builds that I'm most proud of are a Dance Dance Revolution mini-game and a mushroom stem farm. The Dance Dance Revolution machine uses a binary based randomizer to choose one of four arrows which sends a pulse down a column of redstone lamps and the player has to stand on the correct arrow when it reaches the bottom. Each time the player gets an arrow right, a point is sent to a counter on a 3-digit 7 segment display.
The mushroom stem farm uses a TNT duper to blow up the top chunk of the mushroom while the 3 stem blocks are pushed out of the way and into a 3-to-1 block stream converter which then pushes them into ilmango's infinitely expandable cube maker. It may not sound super complex, but I spent a lot of time getting the timings of the machine perfect and it really does work like a well oiled machine!
In the past, I started out following redstone tutorials on Youtube from all the usual Youtubers (ilmango, gnembon, mumbo, rays works) for the purpose of making farms mostly since I'm a survival player mostly. Eventually I started modifying those designs for my own purposes and started having to learn how to do it myself. One of the biggest level ups was when I watched the Dissecting Redstone series with LogicalGeekBoy and Methodz. Once I started getting good with coming up with my own solutions, I started joining various Discords and the r/redstone subreddit so I could learn even more and contribute to the conversation as well.
About how often do you play Minecraft?:
11-15 hours per week
Anything else you'd like to mention? (Optional):
Not really. Looking forward to getting started here!
Application status:
Approved
What kind of creations would you like to build on this server?:
Mostly mini-games and experimentation. I'm the redstone guy on my SMP so mini-games are my thing. As for other stuff, I'll be using my plot to experiment with various redstone components I'm working on so that I can potentially get assistance from others if I'm stuck on a part. That's maybe wishful thinking, but I'm hoping reaching out to other members is legit on a redstone server :)
