[RANK UP FOR SENIOR LEVEL COMPACTION]
essentially its just a connect 4 that resets itself. typical sand connect 4's dont have this ability, they simply discard the sand and you would then have to periodically refill the sand silos at the top.
these builds have many carts in them (more in the compacted versions)
the carts are used as timers, item flow, clocks, and cart timer shorteners.
the final version that i have created has a boat in it as well (can be seen from the front of the creation inside the YELLOW CONCRETE POWDER. this is used to teleport the powder down since the powder would create a pulse through an observer too late causing some issues with the opening of the sand grabbers for the reset.
there is a very strange memory in the back of each machine that progresivly gets smaller and smaller with each iteration.
the 1st version of the machine has an issue where if you reset it with nothing on the board itll just run on a loop for a while so the pink circuit handles that with a loop counter. the rest have latches to prevent resetting entirely with nothing on the board to stop this unnecessary issue.
the first 3 machines are very close to spam proof, the smallest one is not however, this is due to a small piston bud that can be caused when pressing any of the first 6 inputs then the 7th one soon after, this is not avoidable, so the machine was changed to be no longer spam resistant (still works on the first 6 inputs kinda, there is a timer to keep the drop gate open if needed to be extended)
1.17 has sand inconsistencies which could cause a full reset to not be possible, sand can disappear in all versions or even slip through the output gate on the 3rd and 4th version causing it to break
this didnt happen before the update, not avoidable (especially in the sand pumps)
there are input locks on all machines on reset and if the column is filled to the top of the playing board
orange circuit was a concept in the first machine that carried to the second machine but is disabled there (only works on first, dropped on 3rd and 4th). its an afk reset incase someone left the machine alone for too long, removed for uselessness and was created as a space filler on the first machine
the final machine had its sorter placed very far up due to lack of space which caused the item elevator to be much higher than the previous 3 builds, it is what it is though :P
7 input buttons for where you want to place our piece, turn is switched automatically by machine (PLEASE WAIT FOR SAND TO LAND FULLY BEFORE INPUTTING AGAIN [read MACHINE FEATURES first before reading this])
red button is reset
all inputs are the same on all builds
i am expecting some sand to go missing during the testing of this (this is 1.17 physics)
wish me luck please
