Why are you interested in joining this server?:
I've been exploring computer architecture as a hobby for a while and wanted to see if I could transfer those skills over to redstone in Minecraft. I see the physical construction of redstone circuits as a engaging challenge as opposed to the abstracted systems in other simulation software. I would also like to explore application of redstone computing to other aspects of redstone in Minecraft, if I can find any. I'm hoping this server would provide a good place to test designs and brainstorm ideas and solutions with other players.
Current Redstone knowledge:
I have a decent understanding of all redstone components. I can construct logic gates and work with analog redstone. I would like to think of myself as somewhat above the level of the average player with knowledge with pistons and constructing farms, but I assume I would have a lot to learn from players dedicated to redstone. I struggle a bit with flying machines and making full use of the observer.
Past Redstone Experience:
I've constructed basic super-smelters, piston doors, and honey farms, I've also tried exploring storage systems. I have created a few flying machines, but typically from following a tutorial, with only the simplest flying machines developed by scratch. I've been exploring analog redstone for a bit and have created a 4-bit ALU capable of bitwise AND/OR/NAND/NOR operations, as well as addition and subtraction with carry output.
About how often do you play Minecraft?:
1-5 hours per week
Application status:
Approved
What kind of creations would you like to build on this server?:
I plan on delving more into redstone computing, working a lot with analog redstone. I also want to potentially branch out to other fields if I can learn from others, I particularly want to learn more about creating advanced flying machines and applications for observers, which I struggle a lot with.
