Why are you interested in joining this server?:
I used to be fairly active in a few redstone groups around 1.9, and have been trying to get into playing Minecraft once again since last year. I lost contact with my redstoner friends over the years, so I want to be part of another community because I miss the excitement of discussing possible ideas / latest breakthroughs in redstone tech.
Current Redstone knowledge:
I'll be honest, most of my knowledge is now outdated but I've been slowly getting used to all the new possibilities. I used to mainly tinker around with BUD switches and wireless redstone.
I am also fairly decent with computational redstone (both old-school and modern; both conventional and some non-conventional tricks): I'd say it's about the only subfield that my knowledge is still good at, since it's semi-related to my work.
I'm not good at designing my own piston doors but I enjoy occasionally building a few cool designs I find online.
Past Redstone Experience:
I built a few wacky BUD switch based stuff: traps, firework displays and some funny block shufflers (the last one was, along with a randomizer, made to troll people by subtly changing building layouts occasionally).
These next few items are mechanisms discovered by other people that I enjoyed building myself: I have made some auto-storage units in the past; I also once made a boat dispensing/transport system although I don't know if that still counts as redstone. I once came back to MC (relatively recently) to try building a cool 0-tick teleporter device.
Some other wacky stuff I enjoy(-ed) is non-conventional computational redstone (e.g. using minecarts), but I haven't yet tested whether those mechanics still work in the latest Minecraft editions.
My latest builds (and my only original redstone design since I started again) are some decent automatic doors made in survival using the new chiseled bookshelves - I used existing door designs + chiseled bookshelf input + some conventional computational methods [monostables, pulse extenders, and randomizers].
About how often do you play Minecraft?:
6-10 hours per week
Application status:
Approved
What kind of creations would you like to build on this server?:
The skulk blocks give a whole new world of possibilities for wireless redstone, so I've been meaning to try my hands at it for a while now. I also haven't explored several mechanisms that were discovered after I quit playing, like auto shulker loaders, shulker shell farms, and also farms for new mobs such as the warden.
I also had an idea (since several years) to make (semi-)automatic farms for all (or as many as possible) renewable items, and if I recall correctly, some more items became renewable in the latest updates, so I do want to try my hands at that too.
Honestly, I don't have many other plans: I'll try building what I fancy, and catch up on all that I missed out on.
