Why are you interested in joining this server?:
I have been playing Minecraft for almost half my life, but have never taken the chance to learn beyond simple redstone. As a later learner I am looking for a friendly, knowledgable and well-structured environment to help me understand the mechanics and one day be able to build something I can be proud of.
Current Redstone knowledge:
Basic knowledge regarding simple mechanics , ex. edstone requires repeaters or new power sources after so many blocks, full blocks can conduct or break redstone power, half slabs do not break circuits, basic redstone torch inverters, glass is not conductive... Unfortunately most of my experience came prior to redstone updates and I am very unfamiliar with more complex items like sculk sensors, observers, or really anything beyond repeaters and torches.
Past Redstone Experience:
I have built small simple redstone contraptions. For example:
Piston-based hidden doors with button/plate/lever activation
standard slimeblock/redstoneblock/piston flying machines
full set armor equippers, a recessed single block area of 4 connected dispensers with simultaneous trigger from pressureplate
I recently played a prank on a friend that involved a hidden pressure plate that triggered a jukebox playing disc 13 and, with a small tick delay, a lava dispenser with pressure plate guardrails to make it look like they were being griefed (without damage)
About how often do you play Minecraft?:
1-5 hours per day
Anything else you'd like to mention? (Optional):
I am an older player that recognizes this space appears largely for children. I do not want to make anyone uncomfortable, and am happy to find another resource if this is not the appropriate space for me to learn.
Application status:
Approved
What kind of creations would you like to build on this server?:
I would like to learn more complex redstone like auto-farms for practical use in survival, but I also want to learn because until I have a better grasp I do not think I can begin to conceptualize the true creative potential of redstone. Part of my delay in pursuing redstone has been because I find it overwhelming and difficult to imagine. I have seen things as complicated as working computers that can receive input from a player-made keyboard, and that was a long time ago. While I am not sure how well the server may handle large-scale ambitious projects, that type of project sounds very interesting to me.
