My best redstone creation is my favorite its a fairly (atleast i think it is) compact area denial trap (useful in SMP) its dimentions are roughly 9 Long 5 Wide and 6 tall it has a master switch that renders the trap harmless. it's triggered via pressure plate, the pressure plate goes directly to a not gate that no gate is then linked to another not gate. i have a lever that provides constant power to the second not gate to turn the trap off. when the pressure plate is triggered it sends the signal to the first not gate turning that torch off, since the first torch is off it allows the second to turn on giving power to the system. that signal goes directly too the 4 sticky pistons which raise the bottom two blocks next to the pressure plate up (i noticed that if just the two wall blocks went in instead of 1 floor and 1 wall block it was possible to run through) the signal then goes to the other two wall blocks that push them out sealing you in (this trap is a hallway btw) the signal is then sent to a third not gate when the signal from the pressure plate is off the torch is on which pushes out a 5th sticky piston which holds back a water source block above it. when the signal from the pressure plate gets to the 3rd not gate it turns the torch retracting the piston allowing the water to flow into your chamber (the rest of the trap sealed you in so you could then be drowned by this final step) and umm yea thats how it works the best part is when the victim dies the trap resets like nothing ever happened.
