Why are you interested in joining this server?:
I like redstone. I like building. I like playing with people. So this seemed perfect, I've been wanting to create cool redstone contraptions to show off to other people, and if needed ask for help. After a bit of searching this seemed great, as I'm allowed to build freely, with little restrictions, and get help (plus helpING others) if I need it. I'm also pleased with the applications process they have, as it's sort of a clue to know that your creations won't be lost, whereas with non-whitelisted servers, you always have a doubt or fear in your mind that you may be griefed. All in all, a great server that I'm looking forward to playing on.
Current Redstone knowledge:
I'll be honest, when I first logged on, read all the signs, and had a look around, I was pretty shocked. Coming into this server I thought I knew everything and anything about redstone, and suddenly a lot of the stuff baffles me! Especially all the technical terms! Nonetheless, I believe I still have some decent knowledge, and can build some fun creations. My favourite creations concerning redstone are games. I love redstone games :D. Anywho, for core redstone knowledge - I know how it works, I'll say that. So I can pretty much build any simple thing (like a boring piston door) without difficulty. When it comes to 8-bit decoders and computers, and the like I get a bit stumped, purely because I've never tried something that big before! Another reason why I want to come on here and learn some more. So I'm probably in the middle of those two. I should be able to build something if I set my mind to it and concentrate, but computers are a big push.
Past Redstone Experience:
Best creations... I'll never forget this little mini game, it was an obstacle course, with a functioning countdown clock. The clock itself was pretty simple, it has 8 "sticks". The "+" on the sticks was made out of extending piston blocks, and the "x" was made out of light up redstone lamps. For delays between each stick, it was just a bunch of repeaters in a line. So it was basic, but looked very good. The obstacle course was a mix between little challenges (like run through a corridor, avoiding the cobwebs) and redstone delayers (like an iron door with a lever, and rapidly firing pistons in the floor). If you got to the end in time, you had to run through a door. If you were too slow you would find that the door had already closed on you. It could be played solo, and also with two people (there were two identical lanes). As for redstone logic used in the whole thing... Not much. It was just basic wiring. But I believe a creation doesn't have to be filled with T-Flip-Flops, and Toggle Clocks, and Falling Edge Detectors etc, etc, to be good. If it's a fun or impressive creation, albeit how simple the wiring is, I think it should still get a good reception.
Anything else you'd like to mention? (Optional):
Apologies for not having any links first, the stuff I created back then was purely for my own enjoyment OF creating, and ones I did on servers have been long gone. My obstacle course thingy was actually on a server, and I was thinking back to it the other day, which prompted me to look for a new creative server (since that one closed down). I thought I'd look for a server specializing in redstone, so I could show AND learn. Anywho, I'd really like to join this server, it looks great, with an active and friendly community. I'm yet to meet any staff, but I'm sure they're cool. Thanks for reading my application :).
