Why are you interested in joining this server?:
I've played Minecraft since late Alpha, and so I've had plenty of time to survive, create, or just play with friends. I've found myself bored with two of those three things. (Playing with friends, of course, will always be fun!)
Since leaving survival and creative mostly behind, I've found that redstone is the aspect of the game that I find the most interesting. I love the problem solving, the people, and the feeling you get from successfully commanding a bunch of logic gates to do your bidding. So, that is one reason that I want to join the server: I like redstone.
That said, there is another reason that I'd like to join - perhaps a more important one.
I've played on the server already for a few hours, and have found something that is really rare with MC servers these days - an intelligent, mature community. In real life, I can only rarely talk to my friends about my interests. On this server, it seems, many people share my interests - so I can talk about the things I really like with people who understand them. It's very nice to be able to talk about running a server lab or building an asynchronous redstone computer without people giving you strange looks. Not that I'd be able to see those strange looks, of course, but I mean that people actually respond and are able to talk about such topics.
Current Redstone knowledge:
I know about basic logic, data storage, building "functional" devices (For use in survival/creative), more complex logic (adders and the like), and data transmission. There's probably more, but that's really all that I can think of at the moment.
I don't know very much about the new blocks (comparators, command blocks, and hoppers) or about in game glitches involving redstone.
Past Redstone Experience:
I've built a very nice version of tic-tac-toe that I'd like to recreate with a functioning AI. I know that redstone tic-tac-toe is a bit clichéd, but it's still a fun project.
My best creation is probably the beginnings of an asynchronous redstone computer that I managed to get approved for a Computer Science project last year. I never actually finished the computer, but was able to make some program memory, a way of transmitting data from module to module, and an adder and a subtractor from scratch. I'd like to work more on that project.
Anything else you'd like to mention? (Optional):
I like programming, computers, science, reading, making chainmaille, and much more. I speak some Italian, some French, and a lot of English. I like to solve problems
I don't like to copy the work of others. When I build something, I try to be as original as possible in my solution and will only use the circuits of another person if I understand completely how they work.
