Why are you interested in joining this server?:
I want to gain membership in as many redstone servers as possible to see how they differ by knowledge and by community. Mostly I want to compare it to ORE, because I am mostly based on ORE right now and want to see what else there is out here on other servers.
Current Redstone knowledge:
Binary, Most logic, Adders, Subtractors, ALUs, RAM, ROM, Registers, CPUs, currently learning BCD, a little bit of pipeline (just the concept). also lots of other bits and bobs that aren't necessary for making a CPU. aside from various CPUs, I also build a lot of serial based systems such as modems, routers, etc. When I am making a cpu, I try to make it unique, the smallest/fastest/etc.
Past Redstone Experience:
Various CPUs, mostly 4 bit, one 8bit. I did work on a pipelined CPU but was not involved with the initial design and development. outside of CPUs I have built various modems (to connect to CPUs) to allow serial communication. I have plans (and designs) to build a functional router but have yet to need one due to me never having more than 2 CPUs linked by modem. One of my other biggest projects was a game called "Virus" where a player would have to avoid a blob that expanded randomly across a screen. The main unit and basic GPU was build but the game was never finished due to the database needed for hit detection (it would have been huge.) I also have Ideas on creating a 2-3 tick CPU by exploiting a poorly designed instant ALU (which currently has a falling edge time of 5 ticks or so).
Anything else you'd like to mention? (Optional):
I was a member of the RDF, am currently a member of ORE. on the RDF I was apart of PCC, and if anyone remembers we had a build-off against HCI to make the best CPU in 1 year, our side won with a pipeline model but it was lost due to the RDF closure (and the cpu was built before the last backup)
