Why are you interested in joining this server?:
I haven't played Minecraft in months. My computer slowly died an agonizing death until one day it stopped working entirely. I was really sad haha. I have been waiting since then to get back into playing. Hopefully within a week or two, I will have a new super computer to play with and plenty of time on my hands. Before, I played on a server my friend and I ran and a lot on my own building redstone computers. Now, I would like to play on a server with other like minded people interested in creating redstone devices and learning more about binary and mechanics in action. This server popped up on the top of a search and seemed like a great place to start.
Past Redstone Experience:
16 bit redstone computer with GPU. The specs weren't that fancy but I liked to take architecture's designed by other people as inspiration for creating new systems. -I made a really cool ALU that used all 16 boolean logic gates in a simplified universal logic gate taking only 4 ticks. I lost that world with my dead computer... but I think I could recreate it with some time from memory. -8 byte tape memory array with fast read and write functions. The only thing that kept me from improving on it or really using it was the piston lag. It was relatively small too. The exact dimensions I don't remember, but I could probably remake it. -Tons of other fun and weird contraptions that weren't really serious.
Anything else you'd like to mention? (Optional):
I don't have any proof of my work, and I may not start playing hardcore like I used to, but I love redstone. I've had a hole in my heart since I stopped tinkering. If this is a good server looking for a competent redstone engineer, then sign me up!

Comments

I looked around at other applications, and I noticed a lot of them being denied for reasonable things. However, I also noticed that a requirement for approval was 3 lines of text per question. However, what constitutes a line? Depending on the screen size and font size as rendered by the browser, a line can be a different length for different people. Each one of my answers has a brief explanation, but two do not meet the arbitrary (and unmentioned) requirement of three lines. This is the cynic in me coming out haha. I just don't understand the merit of being judged on an arbitrary rule. =P

In another note, I forgot to mention that I am an amateur programmer. I don't know a ton, but I can read most languages by syntax. I have some skill in website development and java. Figured I would throw that in there.

Hi Andrew, welcome aboard! I agree about your point of the applications and I intend to modify them to be a bit more reasonable. Thank you for your input.
