some help please? last time i checked, you can't be banned for being right. see, what happened is, me, mesolost, and cami were all talking about adders and subtractors and stuff, and eventually we got to the subject of comparators. Now, if you've seen my recent adder, you know I am (don't mean to toot my own horn, but) good with comparators, as it is made almost completely out of comparators and repeaters. Mesolost started arguing with me about a fundamental of comparators. He wanted to prove he was right, and naturally, like most other humans, I did too! So, Meso built his little contraption and I built mine, and i'm not sure what he wanted to prove with his. It didn't show anything involving what we had been arguing about, but he still shouted about how he was right. I brought him over to what I built, which demonstrated what i had been saying. at first he called me dumb for not realizing what i made was right and that it was obvious. Not even sure what the logic was, you would assume somebody good with logic gates would have good logic, but apparently i was wrong (get happy Meso, I was wrong about something, go party). Anyway, afterwards, he told me that was what he had been trying to prove and that I had copied him and that he was right. At that point i just walked away and continued building my subtractor. Then, he banned me! Simple as that. His reasons were, 'argumentative and obnoxious', and I have two problems with that. First of all, from my perspective, I wasn't, but i guess that's an opinion and that's what happens when power is in an angry guy's hands. Second of all, can you be banned for that? Is that, like, a thing, that happens? It would be really nice to know, so if an Admin would inform me down below, that would be fantastic. I have a screenshot of the ban reason and I have Cami as a witness. Feel free to ask Meso things about this, but he would, one, argue that this was biased, and two, argue that the biased argument he makes isn't. There's no real way to prove that either of us are telling the truth, though, except for cami and jwdog. they were both there, and cami was probably listening much more intently than jwdog, but i don't know, honestly. If i could either get back on, or understand why i'm banned, that would be great. Like I wrote in my application, i came here to learn, and that should be my lesson of the night.
You are unbanned, just so you know. I was asked how comparators worked and mid explanation you told me I was wrong. If I didn't know what I was doing then I wouldn't try and teach anyone that. As I was building the comparator test rig I use to teach you griefed it even after I asked you to stop. You then setup your own device that was identical to mine except the current signal strength input and even through it was working exactly to the formula I was teaching you declared me wrong. I tried to explain what was happening and you wouldn't listen to me.
So a staff member was asked to teach someone something and you stepped in and made that all but impossible.
i griefed it? i didn't touch anything of yours. i then, yes, set up a device that was definitely NOT identical to yours, but did have different signal strengths running into the comparator. you didn't try to explain anything from that point on, i just walked away and then afterwards you said, 'should i ban EvanX3000?' and didn't wait for a response. you just straight up did it. and btw, don't try and make it seem like i wasn't listening to you, you weren't to me either, it was pretty much both of us trying to shout over each other in a chat, which, now that i think about it, is pretty dumb.

Well, it turns out I've been teaching him as well, and I didn't want him to get his stuff wrong. That wouldn't be good. Though my intention wasn't to not let him learn anything, i think that is better than learning stuff that's wrong.
I think you both need to take it easy, how ever let me strighten a few things up. EvanX3000 by all means you can consider yourself a master on comparators, but you should never make an assumption of someone beeing wrong or teaching wrong. It looks to me, that because MeSoLost didn't agree with the first thing you said, then you didn't bother considering his side of the case. And when you make a subtopic that is: "My sister lies better" then I don't find it hard that you've been obnoxious. You clarely have a strong selfesteem, and I would prefer if you brought it to abit more humble level, for the sake of beeing sivilized.
I'm not going to blame it totaly on EvanX3000. MeSoLost has acted unreasonable. Because as a staffmember he should be able to stopp the arguement before a ban would be necessairy. And as I understood you both, EvanX3000 didn't do anything wrong, except he wanted to disprove your perception of comparators. Which in that case, you MeSoLost should've recived a break and could have left he server, than using your exhaustion as a reason to ban him.
I can't tell if any of these following statements are true, due your stories are not identical. But griefing is offlimit. Complaining about copying is also offlimit, unless asked for a reviewment, how ever you can give a complement that you've seen it before. Also there's another failure in your stories. If the person that wants to learn asks for a staffmember, then I believe MeSoLost should be able to teach the way he want. If EvanX3000 was asked to teach, then he should be able to teach the way he wants. I believe this is the criticle point for your arugment, that you both have different ways to teach, and you missunderstood eachother. And in Norway we have an expression; "Å være syre" which means "To be acid". And it's about talking to eachother like you so bad want to be right, you need to talk on a humiliating level, which I don't want to see again from you guys.
I do not want to hear anything else from this conversation, I consider that you both takes equal amount of blame in this case. And I want you do discuss things on a more open minded way. I hope I've given you a reasonable reviewment of the situation. And I hope everything is ok, if something else happeneds, take a screenshot of the entire case, upload it, then send it to me with an explination.
