Sends data through one wire and can go through a selected channel (3 total). It has no data corruption (missing/changed bits) and its pretty fast. It's 8-bit so it can display up to 3 ASCII characters. Main components are the serial encoder and decoder as well as the channel chooser.
There are 8 levers for writing the data, 3 buttons for choosing the channel, and a button to send the data to the selected channel. Write the data, choose the channel (can't choose 2 channels at a time) then press the button with the sign saying "Send data" to see the data be transfered to one of the channels on the display to the right of the controls
