Why are you interested in joining this server?:
For a long time now I have been messing around with redstone and seeing what I can do with it. I had a natural talent for it when I started, quickly grasping concepts like logic gates and bud switches. Soon, I started making bigger and more complex structures and machines. Though I was fascinated by the Piston televisions and working calculators of back then, I took a huge liking to one part of redstone machines - Automation and Efficiency. Yes, you could sit around all day, running around your manual sugar cane farm and harvesting the grown crops. But that became boring after half an hour. So instead, why not use that half-hour and make yourself an automatic farm, that is faster, more efficient and most importantly of all, you can do something else while it's making sugarcane for you. After that I was practically an expert at efficient farming. I built all sorts of farms for my friends and It felt like a fun challenge, seeing what convenient contraptions I could make. But my group of friends grew out of Minecraft, they left. And I was left all alone with my redstone creations. I kept learning new things but I didn't feel satisfaction anymore from building a good contraption, because if nobody was going to use it, why did I build it in the first place? I looked towards servers with those "Creative" mini-games where you get plots of 40x40 and you build something. Maybe if I made something there, someone would find it, and learn from it. But alas, the servers were too big, my creations lost in the endless sea of claimed plots and nobody ever saw it. Besides, most servers disabled redstone alltogether just to avoid the door/piston lag machines. But thankfully, I came across you, a server with people like me, who just love building redstone machines, people that I can hear real, constructive feedback from and not those one line comments that don't tell me anything. I have come here to learn. To build upon what I have already learnt from true redstone experts, and in the process, hopefully inspire others to learn about the amazing tool, that is redstone
Current Redstone knowledge:
I have been building redstone machines ever since I can remember, back all the way in Beta, before the hunger bar even existed. Though I cannot make working computers or calculators, I'm very good with practical redstone machines. I'd rather have a redstone machine that works very well than one that looks pretty (I value practicality over aesthetics). As I have mentioned in the above answer, I am very good with farming and efficiency as well as automation. My knowledge of the game's mechanics allows me to incorporate little known gimmicks into my creations (such as the fact that villagers plant and harvest seeds which allows for fully automatic wheat and carrot/potato farms)
Past Redstone Experience:
1. I created an extensive, and semi-automatic nether wart farm which covered about a map's worth of space (8x8 chunks). It is not fully automatic as there is no known way of automatically planting nether wart and harvesting and transportation to a central chest is done by the push of a single button. It uses a special kind of repeater which both extends the signal and powers redstone on one of it's sides, which allowed me to power all dispensers, while still extending the power. The repeater was designed by me and I have not yet seen that particular design on any website or video. 2. A semi-automatic blaze farm. It is as efficient as I can get it due to limitations from spawners. It uses pistons and obsidian with slime blocks to push blazes into a 1x1 area fitted with a crusher leaving the blazes at exactly half a heart, waiting for you to beat them with your fist and getting its EXP. It covers the entire area around the spawner that blazes can spawn in ensuring maximum yield. Based on a design found on the internet and modified to make it as efficient as possible. (The clocks on this one can be toggled on and off) 3. A Mario Kart Racing track using ice and pistons. It allows you to modify the track to many different courses by bring walls up and down. It is still a work in progress and far from finished, but I feel like it's big enough to mention There are a lot more little ones too small to mention them on their own, these include: General Mob grinders Spawner-Specific Mob grinders Automatic Wheat/Carrot/Potato Farm (As long as you are willing to put on a book on "Plant seed" button anyways) Fully Automatic, Stackable, Expandable Sugar cane Farm. Configurable Railway tracks and stations Stackable, Expandable Cactus Farm And much more!
About how often do you play Minecraft?:
6-10 hours per day
Anything else you'd like to mention? (Optional):
From what I have read, the server is a creative gamemode server, but I am not sure, could you please clarify this to me? The link I have provided includes a practical demonstration of my repeater design as well as a close look at the repeater itself. This also includes a rather rushed, scaled-down version of my nether wart farm. I was not able to make pictures of most of my creations because I have lost the world files for them, but these are easily re-creatable if you need the screenshots for those as well. The amount I play depends on the time of year and the current day of the week. I play 1-3 hours on weekdays, upwards of 7 hours on weekends and most holidays. I have selected 6-10 hrs because it is more representative of the time I play now, but these hours may vary. Thank you for reviewing this, -Hammy (SuperGamingHamster)
Application status:
Approved
What kind of creations would you like to build on this server?:
I wish to create every farm possible here. I want to catalogue the farms on this servers so people can go on, find the farm they need, and learn from the design. Anything that is renewable (and farmable with redstone) should become a farm for everyone's benefit.
