I'm Kyndo, or some of you may know me as Dre200.
This is my 2 year journey.
I started to play minecraft on xbox, until I got a laptop for christmas, I was so excited cause now I can download Minecraft, as PC is waaayy better. As that, I pleaded my Dad to buy the game for me, eventually he did. So, I searched up some servers, then I came across this server, "Styms Redstone Server". I wondered to myself, well, I need to get better at redstone anyways. ^^
So I joined, I seen a sign saying: If your ignore the signs, your at a high risk of getting banned or mutted, I really did not want to get banned from my first server so I read EVERY SINGLE sign in and out spawn. Thinking I had the knowledge, I remembered I can build in /visitor. So I did. Doing that, I met someone by the name of BennyandRuby. He is very good at redstone, so I asked him if he can teach me something. He agreed to do so, and then he teached me how to make a 7 segment display. This having being my first "cool" machine I have ever made [Benny made most of it xD].
Anyways, I wanted to be just like him, so, I tried to memorise everything that I've learnt and tried putting it in some use. I tried and I tried, but what came out was a lot of rubbish. So I decided to just give up. I didn't go on the server for like a week, until I decided to have another try. I did it. I built it, without any help. I was so proud of myself. I showed Benny, he of course was very supportive and said: "This is great". Looking back now, I know it was just rubbish xD
After like a week, of meeting people and making friends, I decided to apply for learner. As I finished, I press saved. Then after about 5 mins Flandyn came online [Admin]. He told me the application was way too short for it to be approved. So, I tried again, putting in as much detail as I can. Thinking of every aspect of redstone I knew. After about 2 mins, Flandyn told me it "Welcome to the server Dre200 ext". And at the time, I must of been the happiest person in the world.
I started to build in learners, building alod of cool stuff [Not really]. Then this person joined a game, he had the Novice rank, collieman2 [I think]. It is [Learner+] but back like 2 years ago :). Anyway I asked him how did he get it. He kindly told me I had to do the trial. So, I done /trial and looked at all the info.
I started my trial, thinking of what I was going to build... And being the absolute noob in the history of noobs, I built a coal machine, like WTH?! Well, as you know, woesh0007/Flandyn came on and said it was not going to get accepted, so I tried again. This time, it literally broke the noob barrier, I built an elevator, not a multi floor elevator, but something I found from youtube. And... It did not get accepted. I came to a close door. I knew I would never be able to open it...
Well, I tried to look for a new root to get a higher rank, it was hard, but I had a little harsh and mean thing to be motivated by. It was around this time Flandyn said: "Not to be mean, but you are not good at redstone". <--- That right there, just broke me. Shattered. I said I will make him think differently about me [Desperately trying to defend myself, as there were many people on the server]. So I quitted redstone, deleted the server, and just, went...
As you know, being the person I was, I wasn't going to give up that easy. So after a month, I went back on the server. Trying to avoid Flandyn, as soon as he joined, I said "Gtg" and left the game. After a while, I was fed up of always avoiding Flandyn, so, when he joined, I stayed on. At this time, I was looking for a new challenge. I looked at the Senior challenge board and seen, PacMan. I was like: "Ehh, this wouldn't be easy, but lets try". I tried, and tried, of course it didn't work.
I was fed up, so I just decided to donate. I got my plot, my World Edit, and some cool commands. But, I felt like, I didn't earn it. I shouldn't be doing this. I went back to the challenge board, and seen on the Builder side. Tic Tac Toe with unbeatable AI. I attempted it, and it WORKED [Sorta]. Flandyn came on and seen me hard at work on it, I said, I was done, so, he tried it. It didn't work, it just broke. I was really disappointed in myself. But he said: "Tic Tac Toe has a lot of possible draws and errors. I will let you off with this one." He congrats me. And I was just there, confused so hard. When I typed to see what he was talking about, I seen [Builder] nex to my name! Me being the happiest man on Earth once again =D.
Well, I never really tried to hit senior because I just didin't, and still don't really care about senior. [Well maybe a bit but what eves].
Months went by, Seen a lot of friends come and go. Then Flan wanted to show me something. A project he has been working on for ages. FlanCastle. Guys, this looks so cool, you should check it out, /warp FlanCastle. Anyways, I got so motivated, I wanted to do something that will impress him. So, me and a few friends built a cruise ship, in just 3 days, its quite big, and very good looking ^^.
I showed Flandyn, he said it looked good. To be honest, I thought it was way better than just "Good". So, I built another HUGE thing, a Ice palace. Well it never finished as it was too big. But Flandyn never really said much about it. So I never tried again.
Months went by, seeing friends come and go again, at this point it was just me and Hardfg5000 that was still buds and active. He has been with me since, well near the start of which I started. And supported me very much. Along with many other =3. Then, I seen, another [Mod Jr.]. It was sgort87 [Gort]. Me and I were sorta friends, but he had alot to do, so I let him be. He got [Mod] and I congrats him many times. I was asking alot of questions like: what commands have you got, can you do this, that ext... He kindly answered all of them. He brang many ideas into the server. Many I didn't really understand why, but yea.
Flandyn, now, was supporting me harder than ever. Along with many others. It was so fun to have him around onlin, and to just be there. Then eventually, Gort got [Admin], I congrats him very very much, and another name that got admin: MeSoLost. He's also been with me and very supportive, and I helped him out on this survival games project. And unfortunately, it was around this time Flandyn started to be very unactive. Eventually, he retired from hist staff spot. I was so upset. Devastated.
Then I has the best idea, the final project, to make him impressed for what I have done. A new spawn. As you may know, the spawn is actually going to be the new spawn for the server. Many people supported me. But from the very beginning, it was just Gort. I started to build the entrance. Around this time is when Eccon got his [ModJr.] Rank. I was very happy for him. And so were many other people. I started to work hard hours into the spawn. Eventually, having the help from a few others, the spawn was near enough complete. This is when, me, Farex and MrRedCrack got [Mod Jr.]. Waited 2 years for it. With all the hard work. With many new friends, this is me now. Kyndo. I had a great journey. What about yours?
